I decided to go shoe shopping today. Not really “shopping” as other women may define the word; I only planned to get one pair (my budget only allowed a pair for now). And so, I went ready to brave the long, tedious search for the perfect one.
I often go to Trinoma or SM North Edsa to get shoes but this time, I tried Alimall in Cubao. I didn’t have much time and since it wasn’t my usual place to shop, I didn’t expect to find what I needed immediately. In Alimall, they have a branch of Payless ShoeSource. I never tried buying shoes from Payless before, much less window shop there since I knew they only offered size 5 as the smallest for women’s shoes. I went in this time, with the intention of checking out their selection for kids.
While trying on some kids’ boots on size 3 1/2 (which fit me perfectly, by the way), a manong or a male sales assistant offered to get me some boots from the women’s section. And so to buy me some time to try more pairs in the kids section, I agreed to his offer. He came back with 2 pairs of high-heeled boots, all on sale! He also offered to check the price of one cute violet suede heels for me, which was again, on sale! I didn’t know what happened next—I got all three pairs!
Now before you judge me as an impulse buyer, those purchases were all in good quality and the best part is, they all fit my budget. What was supposedly a one-pair purchase allowed me to get three gorgeous pairs. I’m a happy girl! 😀
Turns out, Payless would have these sales once in a while and manong was just so kind to assist a clueless shopper like me. I felt really blessed by that gesture. I’m sure to buy my next pair (or pairs) from that branch again but will look for him first, haha! (God, please bless that manong.)
And so, to further share my happiness, I’d like to introduce to you my new-found friends. (Total price: PHP1,600. One pair cost me only PHP200. Waaaaaah!!!)
