They say a girl can never have enough shoes and bags, but for someone like me, it’s either I get content with my monochromatic collection or raid the kiddie designs forever. Well, what can I do? I am but a small girl with small feet. My shoe size is 4 which always pretends to be a size 5 being left with oh so few choices!
When my feet stopped growing, I had to become a fan of shoe corks or tissue paper stuffing so I could fit my closed shoes. But this trick doesn’t work with open-toed sandals or slippers. Rarely do I find a sandal or slipper that fits me perfectly. Most of what I have now are either half a size or a size bigger.
I have had numerous futile searches and I would often retreat to the preteens or worse, the children’s section where I have bought rubber shoes several times. Well then, just last weekend I once again braved the ladies shoes section. And behold, look what I found! I was so delighted to see a collection named Faridez. At first, I got attracted to the bold, intricately-embellished designs they had, especially their sandals and slippers. I went on to try one and to my surprise, I saw more than half of their displays in size 4!
Now, that was a rare moment so I checked on all their pairs, tried on several of them. I was not disappointed with the designs at all. Even in the more serious leather or closed type collection, they didn’t crimp on color or style. I felt like I have just found a gold mine! Finally, a shoe that really and truly fits, and expresses well my fetish for color and design.
I bought a pair of slippers which I wore for a singing gig later that day. And boy did that perfect fit felt soooo good!
